My bandwidth test on the BoltBus

It technically does connect, but I also tried using my iPhone 3G tethering through PDANet. Here are the speedtest.net results.

There’s a college girl behind me who has been going on for at least an hour on her cell with a friend about how she doesn’t like the way the jeans she bought last year look anymore, so she needs new ones. She’s not taking clues from the people around that we really don’t care. … ahh, someone just said it directly. Thank you.
someone said it to her? wow, nice. i got rid of my cell in return for a wifi phone so i can have a home phone or “when im at starbucks” phone. if i could easily contact people and knew you were going i’d get on that bus. i wanna be in ny.
i recorded some of the show. i’ll post a few songs if they’re any good.
what phone do you have? i’d probably get one if i didn’t need a cell for work.
i just use a playstation portable, or PSP. though sony has a thing called a mylo which is twice as expensive and made for skype, gchat and the like, which i didn’t bother getting because psp can play games and such. it’s bulky, and i have to plug in earphones when someone calls so they dont hear themselves talk but for 4 dollars a month, i’ll be happy.
Apple is talking about supporting tethering. I’m way hesitant on jailbreaking my iphone, mostly because i’m likely to break it in a way that warranty would have otherwise covered it.
I found the Bolt very spotty, better the closer I got to NYC. I did find the driver very sassy in a fun way, making fun of the guy who missed his bus and had his seat sold, and thanking us for taking it because “she like to get her hair done and her nails done, and we were helping to write her paycheck”.
i wouldn’t worry about breaking warranty. i haven’t heard of anyone not being able to reset the phone if needed. there are a few things i really like that require jailbreaking like tethering, ssh access, interface mods. do it.
ya, my drivers were def cool.
Not very fast, but who cares? The fact that there is wifi at all makes a huge difference. I love the Boltbus.
